She wants to feel the warmth again
of sunlight on her face,
Wanting time to turn a hand
and yesterday embrace.
She knows it's gone now,
the way she felt back then;
Time moves on..so does life,
she'll find it once again.
Still light that shines bright,
take yesterday as thine;
For another day of happiness
I'd give you one of mine.
She holds on to her broken dreams,
in hopes they may come true;
But daylight's fading fast again,
what more can she do.
Closing eyes to restless sleep,
consuming thoughts..she cries;
Until the dawn approaches new
and once again she'll rise.
