*lost star within my tear*

A portal of glistening water falls gently from my eye
Within it a glimmer, a shine, a star
The brightest star, ever seen, seen within my teardrop, showing my melancholy from my heart being broken
~
Flashes of warm summer nights overtake my usually cold soul
Complete with the stars, the bright skies, the holding of me in your arms.
Yet now i'm here all alone, laying here lazily, letting the tears fall
The tears forming the stars in the heavens above
~
Before you left me, you told me to always look up to the sky, and the star that we declared ours would always be shining bright
You were right, each night before I lay and rest my eyes, my journey outside would bring me to our special Star
A tear would fall from my eye, and I could feel my heart beat rhythmically in my chest
For I knew, that you, even though far away, looked at the same star, and thought of me.
~
Still, even though you are not mine anymore, even though you are free I still look up to that star
I did so tonight, and this poem, this vow of my frienship sprung to mind
A single tear was shed in memory of all those nights in your arms
And in that tear I saw you, our star, our past...
And my tear hit the ground,  I saw....my future.
