About us

Poetry Ocala began as the Poetry Appreciation Club of Ocala, now a chartered member of the Florida State Poetry Association, also affiliated with the National Association of State Poetry Societies.

The Ocala chapter is a growing group of people interested in the diverse techniques and styles of poetry; dedicated to writing, teaching and promoting poetry. Members have written and published many books and have received awards.

Poetry continues to be an important part of our culture. Readings are done at schools, the public library, Appleton Museum, book stores, and at civic functions.

Poetry Ocala meets on the third Thursday of each month at Ft. King Presbyterian Church Hall at 6:p.m.

Join us to reach out with your writing, poems and ideas. Whether in person or on our egroup. Guests are always welcome.
