This Vessel

A purity and innocence too bold for reflection
Floating amidst the falling season's array
A spark of fire upon candle top
Lighting a journey through midday.
A bright vessel inside one of dark
Lives forth with an eagerness toward death
And captures within her eyes the desolation
Of a lost heart drifted o'er the sea
Saying goodbye to the beauty beyond
And greeting the darkness below, here and now
To wonder afar yet so near
This hoping heart and soul divide time
Leaving water and plant to flourish beyond
While somewhere inside this vessel
Decisions contrary to the flow of breath
Yet in line with the current of peace
Forever engulf her, and all hereforth.
