The Books of Life

Letter upon letter upon word upon page
Life does meet me at every given stage.
Never knowing what the next page to hold,
I grip my arms and shiver in the cold.
Will you love me and invite me in
To be a page in your book within?
For as I live in your book, mine too becomes full,
With memories of life warmer than wool.
To write and write and write, dreaming afar,
I begin to see our lives written in the stars.
No matter how cold the winter or scorching the summer
The stories within will continue to number.
I will write in my thoughts and dwell in my dreams
As our books become full, bulging at the seams.
