| That Day, Back in the Sixth Grade When We All Went To The Mall, That Never Happened |
||||||
| Do you remember that day Back in sixth grade When we all went to the mall? I don't. I don't remember experiencing you And the multitudes of people 'round us. Nor the chirping birds within the store To the left. Or the pianos playing in the store to the right. I miss those birds I never heard Those notes I never played. They are the gap That separates these two stanza Of life. Some day I hope the gap to be Closed on itself And the unremembered passions Of yesteryear finally forgotten. Only then will the absence in our lives Bring together the separation in this verse. Dedicated to Zach Chatterton 01/02 |
