Raindrops Dripping On Me
Drip drip dripping
raindrops landing at my feet
disguising my tears
as they softly meet
These tears I cry
I cry for you
as the raindrops drip
with my tears so blue
Softly the raindrops
land on my skin
The tears forming
from deep within
Only the raindrops
drip dripping on me
capture my tears
take hold of the key
Soon a rainbow will appear
the sun to shine once more
the rain reluctantly stops
from my heart sunshine does pour
Then once more I will shine
set my heart free
No more raindrops
drip dripping on me

3) How long have you been writing poetry?:
I've been writing poetry since about the age of 15
4)What inspired you to first start writing?:
In Secondary School we had to write a piece of poetry about any subject, I chose suicide. From that first poem I found a way to express my inner most feelings without having to express them out loud and it was a way to escape into a world of my own.
5) Comments about this poem:
This poem was written one night after reading some poetry on the net in a poetry forum. The poems were written by friends I had made there and it was their poetry that inspired this piece.
6) Have you had any professional work or have had any poetry published?
I've not had any professional work but I have had two poems published recently in a book called "Australia's Best Poetry" and another couple of poems due for publication some time in the future.
7) Other comments:
I would like to say thanks to all who voted for my poem and to new friends that I've met in this forum especially Debbie Johnson my "Poetry Friend" as we call each other and my soul sister. I would also like to say that it's forums like this one that gave me the confidence in myself in regards to my work and inspiration. I've written so many poems in the last couple of years since first surfing the net and has given me confidence and courage in submitting my work for publication which beforehand I had only dreamt about. Anyone who writes poetry writes it from deep inside their heart & soul and with words we can sadden, delight, give hope and uplift........in poetry is power and in that power we have the strength to move on.
