This poem is dedicated to my Dad.

As he sits at work, drinking his coffee
He wishes he was in his shop, turning wood
If not turning something, then carving a tree
All he wants, is to create things with wood

After work, he disappears into his shop
Hours later, he comes back with a new piece
He shows his family Their jaws drop
His creation is beautiful, they're speechless

Time for rest as the kids say, Goodnight Dad
He doesn't want to sleep Although he should
Too tired to work anymore He's almost sad
But Tomorrow is Saturday, a full day with wood
