Nyctophobia
As the sky falls,
A cat's ear starts to perk,
All turns into shadows,
When I start to lerk.
I'll cover the city,
Like a blanket, you see,
I'll bring the violence,
With no redemption from me.
It may be drug induced,
Or just a random act,
Pain and hurt I bring,
Just stating a fact.
I make theives and robbers,
Break into your house,
They're so quick and slick,
They move just like a mouse.
Women sell their bodies,
As I make my rounds,
I get no money from them,
I just cover up the sounds.
Keep your children safe,
And keep your windows tight,
I'm the one who helps,
Keep the pervert from sight.
I'm the one who helps adulters,
Cover up their evil sin,
I'm the one who hides the truth,
When all their lyings begin.
When the drunks drive home late,
I'm the one who makes them kill,
I hide the road on them,
Causing the blood to spill.
Safe and sound,
Snug in your bed,
Remember these words,
For which I have said.
Stay as safe as you can,
Until the sun shines bright,
I'm the monster coming for you,
I'm the creature known as night.
