Sweet Serenity

The clouds open themselves, Slowly reveiling the sleepy city below. It sits peacefully in the clouds'shadows, While the bay reflects what's left of the sunlight. The soft tufts of vapor drift low the horizon shines a most brilliant pink. As our star falls below in the distance, the tired cityscape starts to glow with colours of all sorts ...Sweet serenity.
Notes: This summer I took a week-long trip to Washington DC and New York City with my Girl Scout troop. It was a long flight and I was listening to my headphones while being fascinated with the scenery below. See, living in Arizona for like, 7 years kinda gets you used to the whole bland desertscape thing...green and water and hills are so alien to me. As the sun was going down, we flew over this city by a bay... It was breathtaking. It was SO beautiful that I overcame my lack of paper and wrote on one of the airline magazines in black Sharpie. It was SO peaceful and the water reflected the lights of the city...and it was green..and *sigh*...so serene.
