The Night The Moon Smiled
6/27/03 - 4:35am
The night the moon smiled down on me,
the sun's reflection his cheerful grin
hung like an orb of glass in the cool twilight air
Content there in the presence of the stars and sky.

The night the moon smiled down on me,
the glow filled my heart with memories of love once lived
...and with hopes of love to come.
The air was filled with vibrations of harmonies of strings,
as the rest of the world lie in slumber.

The night the moon smiled down on me
I smiled back with a contentment I've only felt once before
I knew now that I wasn't alone

...the night I smiled up at the moon.
Notes:
This poem marks the genesis of the "bright" period of my life.  Content with life, my heart overflowing, I found myself unable to sleep and sitting in my darkened room listening to classical music (harmonies of strings).  Every night I look out my window at the night sky, the familiar sight bringing about a deep comforting feeling;  A feeling of security, like God is watching over me.  The moon being the biggest comfort of all in all its awe-inspiring beauty.  That particular night, the moon was almost transparent, like glass, and it was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen, paired with the sky painted with the colours of sunrise.  My life was finally starting to come together, and instead of looking up at the moon in tears, I looked up and smiled.  Finally, the age has come.
