Midsummer Rain By Michelle Yet another day and still no rain A hot and sticky mass of air flows through the trees Just breathing such air can be a pain I wonder exactly how hot it is in degrees But wait! The sky appears to be darkening in the west A hush falls in the air The swaying tree branches begin to rest Darkness begins to hide the sun's fiery glare Silvery beads descend from the sky Fresh air comes from the summer showers It is so wonderful that the earth is no longer dry How lovely are these rain freshened hours Just when I though all plant life would die There came a wondrous blessing from the sky
