The Poetic End
These are the last words I shall ever write,
To my poetic thoughts I say good night,
Never again, shall there be heard,
a sentence written in my poetic word,
from now until my dying day,
no poems written in any way,
no words of rhyme or rhythmic thought,
this is to you the last poem Ive brought,
no more poems of sorrow or pain,
no more feelings for me remain,
These words I say may be sad my friend,
But I shall never write again,
No more of the religious poems that I do,
and no more general thoughts its true,
I will never write of my sufferings,
and never tell when my heart sings,
Never again of Love, or Love gone wrong,
And never again will my poems sing a song,
Ive put away the poetic pen,
and I will never write again,
My poems dont touch my heart no more,
But that is what I wrote them for,
The words Ive written are seldom read,
and the feelings in me have all gone dead,
This poem may not ever be,
a work of art or part of history,
But as these words fade out of sight,
Let it be known theyre the last I write,
On this ninth day of June Two-thousand and five,
My poetic me is no longer alive,
These are the last words I shall ever write,
And to my Friends I say... its alright!
