Passing Moments

They met as children and they fell,
Who'd have known it'd never last,
Ten great years in a lovesick spell,
To become a part of the past,

The end came as though God had willed,
Without warning and very quick,
Wedding vows left un-fulfilled,
A sorrow that leaves them sick,

Love seemed so right,
They thought they knew,
All that's in their sight,
Now time's run out on them two,

Did they fail in each other's eyes,
To fulfill each other's need,
Or hear the others silent cries,
Deafened by their own selfish greed,

Does it even matter now,
For they've moved to better things,
Will they truly find joy some how,
As they look to what the future brings.

I challenge you now here today,
To prove that I am wrong,
Love cannot last in any way,
It has an end like a song.
