| To My Mom
You are the goal for which I seek for me, You are my guiding light, Everything I would ever want to be, All the things I try to do right, Your approval is what I feel I want, Of the man that I am now, But disappointment in my dreams do haunt, Am I not good enough some how, The things I show you I have done, That I was so proud to do, You find error in every one, As if to say Im ashamed of you, You are successful you hold your own, With class, style and dignity, And every day I call you on the phone, To remind me of how I want to be, I shall never be a house hold name, And this I surly know, But for you to be proud of who I became, Would be nice for you to show. My poetry is a part of me, Each word is placed with care, And I wish that you could only see, The poems I long to share. Instead you tear apart my words, The spelling is all wrong, The grammar and punctuation is obsurd, I am to inept and uneducated to belong, But thats O.K. I love you mom, And one day may you see, I did my best to belong, And make you proud of me. Author: K Ball 11-29-07 |
