The Music in Your Life
Beloved mine, please understand
that each and every hour
you are a player in a band.
Your music has the power,
To sooth a pain in someone's heart,
to ease a troubled mind.
A calmness too it may impart
when peace is hard to find.
However, when a dissonance
comes out and dominates,
you lose your lovely resonance.
Your melody abates.
Consider then which tone to choose
as you yourself express.
Sometimes it's folk, sometimes it's blues
that seems to heal or bless.
Perhaps you think it's tough to keep
your rythm nice and smooth.
And you may find your trouble deep,
yet quitting is uncouth.
The beat of life may seem too fast;
yet others claim it's slow.
You wonder if you're made to last
through each and every show.
At times like these just take a break
and listen for a while.
Each new approach you learn to take
improves your current style.
And if you play all out of tune,
it may be just the key
that happens to be inopportune.
That's not a catastrophe!
There is no grander goal for us
than helping out each other
to play a tune most marvelous,
thus blessing one another.
