About the Author
Anne Maarit Ghan grew up in Finland, in the 1960's, as the youngest of seven children.
She studied cultural anthropology at Helsinki University, and massage therapy at a nursing school in Helsinki.
Her background is colorful, having worked as: a tourist information agent, a janitor on a cruise ship, a dancer at the National Theater of Finland, a courier in Sweden, a nanny in Russia, an English tutor in Japan, a massage therapist in USA, and a pressed flower artisan in Germany. However, according to her, motherhood has been the most defining and satisfying work of all.
Anne is married to her soul mate, Scott, and together they have raised three incredibly creative children.
Her work has been published in Poetic Voices, 2005 anthology
New Classic Poems , and 2006 anthology Rhyme and Reason by Neil Harding McAlister.
She was a winner in Contemporary Formal Poetry Contest in 2004, a finalist in Tom Howard/John H. Reid Poetry Contest in 2005, and a finalist in Mattia Family International Poetry Contest during 2004- 2006.
Several of her poems have received an honorary mention from ByLine Magazine, and Poetry of Today Publishing.
