| A friend of mine has lost everything she owns in a fire that struck her home without warning on March 15, 2004. The fire also took the life of her dog. Total lost was between $30,000 and $50,000. At this moment, she and her son is living in a motel. They have received three new beds, but no linen or other necessities needed for a normal life. Kimmy is a single mother, with little funds from her part time job. She lives in Kawartha, a city in British Columbia, Canada.
