The Foxes (Jєi Shôb Shєyālerā) Translated by Tapan
Jyoti Barua When the fabulous daylight fades into the
night The foxes, out for game for aeons, Crawl furtively—in and out of forest hills. There they are in the moonlight Gawping at the deep snowdrift If only they could find words miraculously
for their feelings Like the soulful utterance of human, They would have been shattered in awe By the ravishing luminous view. When I suddenly saw you on the fringe of life Even my honest intentions were jolted in
thrilling darkness.
