Draft Poem

(Kôbitār Khôshrā)

Translated by Mohammad Nurul Huda

After much of life’s obligations are done

It seems that human body waning

On the walks of earth for more works to do

No more looks like the Creator’s being.

The Mind reaches the self in a gradual manner

Resembling at dark the star’s fire,

Finding a place in time’s total void

Deep in love with the earth, though shriveled.

Stirred in Hatred Agony Blood Blunder and Fright

History comes closer day and night;

Giving him what he owes, may be derived

Wisdom Peace and Love’s real Breath

From inside some goals, some source persons.

In history there are grief-laden blind motions;

Though darkness is enormous,

Pledge Inspiration Love like a Power indifferent

Get broken; this fire this mind not broken yet.
