Unconditional Love
I remember the last time I saw my son Ryan,
When I left he was sitting on the porch crying,
Saying "Daddy I want to go with you, please daddy."
And I left him, my insides dying.

Bad choices I would make,
And two years would go by without him,
Alone all by myself,
Without him, my life was no doubt - -  dim.

Not a day went by without thinking of him,
I, of myself, embarrassed and ashamed,
But I had to put my pride away,
And call Tracey for my rightful blame.

She said "It is up to Ryan,
He is the one with the hurting heart,
But, if you come back into his life,
You better never ever again part.

Although I did not deserve it,
It was as if he didn't care,
That over the last two years,
His daddy, me, has not been there.

He accepted me with open arms,
He said "Daddy I know that you missed me."
We played as if no time lost at all,
Before I left he hugged and kissed me.

A child's love is so precious,
Which many people never take the chance to see.
Ryan's ability to Love,
Comes without a doubt, unconditionally.
