LETTER TO THE IGNORANT RACIST MAN

Dear Mr. Ignorant Racist MAN
Whos preventing me from doing all I can
You see who I am,
Where Im from
My race.
Im still trying to understand this place
And how I, myself, can fit in
I guess not that well
Since you still judge me by the color of my skin
But whomever Im with
Where I live
That does not rate the love I give
It doesnt show my quality
But, then again, you cant really know me.
Would you know the extent of my ability?
Well, apparently
Youre blinded by your enmity
The image in front of you is all you see
Man, dont you realize that I have dreams?
There are so many things that I want to be
I want to help save the world,
I want to spread a million words
But clearly,
I cant
I still need to be free
From you and your oppressing conformities
That keeps me from having true liberty.
What makes you hate my ethnicity?
Is it because its been said by your ancestry?
Dont you see that we
Need to agree
To stop this separation
And just be happy?
Do you want that?
Dont you want that?
Or would you rather have me hate the fact that Im black?
Would you rather me aspire to be like you
I dont need your acceptance,
My value will always be true
What I need is your cooperation
Lets truly become a united nation
Cause if we dont try and keep the peace
This world will only quickly decease
Open your mind
Extend your heart
Remove the chains
There is no need for all this pain
And you are the one providing all the rain.
Which makes me see you with disdain
Im not insane
You can change.
And I know this.
So,
I hope from my words
Youll embrace the day
When everyone realizes
Being diverse is more than okay
Then all our troubles will be far away
This is all I am meant to say
I hope you take this wisdom
Let all that is good, be good
Cause mister,
I know you see me as second rate
But Ive always been ready to forgive your hate
Just make sure your apology is not too late.
So well all be at those heavenly gates.

This letter is sincerely,
From an Afro-American writer
A.k.a the poetic strider
Whos ALWAYS prepared to help hearts shine brighter
In order to make our souls lift higher
