| Hello, welcome to my website. I am The SoulChildWritten. This is now my permanent psuedonym, and I no longer give out my real name. I am a 16 year old female, and I reside in the Bronx New York. I have lived in New York all of my life, and I have been fortunate to take in the many different cultures around me. Personally, I am an African American, specifically of Jamaican descent. My ethnicity, as well as the culture of my African ancestry, influences my work as well as my goals for the future. I believe in furthering the push for a more equal society, and also pushing for a more educational society when it comes to our cultures. I am also a christian. My denomination is pentecostal, but I do not discriminate for any other religion whatsoever, nor do I see myself more righteous than others. I try to be more than tolerant and accepting. I do want to take part in my ministry, and hopefully end up becoming a missionary. When I'm not being serious, I love to talk on the phone and hang out with my friends. I also love to watch comedies. I love anything that can make me laugh, except things that are naturally deadly, hurtful, or can cause pain, of course. Some of my favorite comedians are all of the Wayans Brothers, Jamie Fox, Chris Tucker, Chris Rock, Wayne Brady, George Lopez, and Dave Chappele. When I'm not watching comedies, I'm either watching a drama like Soul Food, or One Tree Hill, viewing a movie like She's Gotta Have It, or Do the Right Thing, or I'm watching the Pianist and Schindler's list. Otherwise, you can catch me watching some old cartoons:) Besides those things, I love music. Without music, I would be somewhat empty. I love all types of music, like jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and Soul. These days, I have opened my ears to other music like classical and contemporary I never like to think of myself as one with many talents. On the contrary, I like to see myself with many gifts. I was given GIFTS, as a privilege, not because I deserved them. I was blessed specifically with drawing and writing. As I grow older, my crafts become better and more refined. To tell you the truth, when I was younger, I was a crappy poet. I had nothing to offer in that field. But sooner of later, I began to improve my work. Some of the poets and writers that inspire me are Langston Hughes, Lorraine Hansberry, Maya Angelou, Judy Blume, Shakespeare, etc (there are MANY others).
