My Blind Date
There was one year, I recall, where dating was just the pits for me.  I had the worst luck with guys.  Id end up dating a loser, or a nice guy who suddenly turns mean after becoming romantically involved with me for one month.

I know, I know.  One month isnt enough time to actually say that you are madly in love with someone and you cant live without him or her.  I was just broken to pieces whenever Id get thrown out like a garbage bag after that one single month.

My best friend was tired of seeing me down-in-the-dumps all the time, so she, with her charm and brilliance, decided to set me up on a blind date with her younger cousin.

I was really nervous about the big date.  I had only hears negative things about blind dates.  Not one, have I ever heard anything positive about the topic.

I had to give in to my friend.  Shes the type of person who is set in her ways, and never takes no for an answer.  Shes the one who made the decision for me on this one.  She made all of the arrangements, long before she even asked me.

After a couple of days with anticipation, I was really curious as to who this guy was.  I kept bugging my friend to provide me with some information about the mysterious guy I would soon be meeting.  I really wanted to know what he looked like, where he went to school, what he liked to do, and so much more.  I knew that I was able to learn these things about him in the near future, but I really could not wait any longer.  I wanted to know now! She refused to tell me anything, including his name.  This gave me even more concern.  What if this guy turned out to be butt-ugly or so desperate that he would date anything that walks.  I began to panic.

The big day finally came, after many sleepless nights.  I begged my friend to supervise the date, just in case anything bad was to happen.  She picked me up and my whole body started to tremble with excitement.

Ill never forget the moment when I first laid eyes on my blind date.  There were rays of sunlight shining down on him from heaven as he approached me.  I really couldnt believe my eyes.  He was absolutely gorgeous!

Our date went so smoothly.  We talked more about ourselves so that we could get to know more about each other.  I learned his name, what he looked like, where he went to school, and what he liked to do for fun, along with so many other things.

By the end of the night, he ended up kissing me.  Sparks flew and a relationship began.  I was definitely on cloud nine.

One of lifes lessons I learned through this experience is that you should take the chance and dont always go with what other people say.  Their opinions arent always the right ones.  Speak for yourself and make you own opinion sometime, dont just go by their book.  Just because they experienced something doesnt mean that you will experience the same.  Take chances and sit back and enjoy the ride!
