N.I.C.U. Rollercoaster

This is not an amusement park ride at all
But slowly you climb, and quickly you fall
Knowledge can become a double-edged sword
But the lack of it, you simply cannot afford

A heart wrenching balance of cause and effect
The consequences of which you can hardly neglect
Though she needs these things to help her grow
They say it won't hurt her, but how do you know

She will have good days, and some others may be bad
In the long run she will be fine, so don't be sad
The overall picture is for her to come home
Hold her close in your arms, plenty of soft hair to comb

Our beautiful girl, we shall watch you learn
Your health and happiness, our ultimate concern
We can hold you, bath you, and change your bottom
As time rolls on, we shall watch you blossom

Cherich each moment that we spend with you
Give plenty of Love, is the least we will do
Our pain and tears are for what you must endure
But alas, time is the ultimate cure.
