Come Back to Me

The rose no longer smells as sweet,
The music just doesn't carry the right beat.
I can no longer walk on air,
Now that there is no love to share.
My feelings run free and true,
Without you I am sad and blue.
As the song says "I only have eyes for you"
In any relationship there is give and take,
Maybe it took for you to go before I could awake,
But there is this one thing for you I make.
This poem of feelings straight from my heart,
Maybe I should have realized it from the start,
But maybe I thought our love would never part.
Is this the way it has to be?
I guess we must wait and see,
If the one I love comes back to me.
But over and over I'll tell you still,
That if there is a way I have the will.
Just remember that I'm only human as you can see.
All I ask is for you to come back to me.
