The Meeting

It was a fall october day when they all did meet. They came from all over the states from the west, the south , and the north, and they did finally meet.
After much determination and grit, the meeting was made. They were of total strangers to become as one soon. They saw the butterfly museum together and then helped the poor lost souls who traveled round and round find a place to land for the night. And then returned later to challenge one another to a game of pictionary. The laughter was heard, the photos taken as memories forever, were in the makings.
Though there were many different types of personalities there in that room and with the day it was plain to see that God was in control in all the fun and play.
Thank you Lord for this here machine which started out to be a scare for me . It has now turned into a blessing and sometimes to see what I can accomplish to learn in a dare. Much prayer went into that meeting, and from the gal who met me at the airport ,to the last good-byes it was terrific. So to all of you , I say thank you for being willing and trusting your heart to reach out to a total stranger.

ONCE STRANGERS

I RECALL THE DAY WE MET
IN A CHATROOM OR IN A GAME .
NOT KNOWING ONE ANOTHER,
BUT WITH EMOTIONS JUST THE SAME.

STRANGERS TYPING BACK AND FORTH
AS WE GREW TO KNOW EACH OTHER.
AND MANY TIMES WE NEEDED SOMEONE
AND WE WERE THERE FOR ONE ANOTHER.

WE LAUGHED, WE TALKED, WE PRAYED
AS WE BEGAN TO KNOW MUCH MORE.
ABOUT THIS TOTAL STRANGER,
WHOM WE LET INTO OUR DOOR.

AND AS THE TIME WENT BY,
WE FELT SO CLOSE, YOU SEE.
FOR WE HAD GROWN IN FRIENDSHIP,
JUST AS A FAMILY.

WE KNEW EACH OTHER NOW BY NAME
WE EVEN TALKED BY PHONE,
AND MANY TIMES WE CAME ONLINE,
WHEN WE FELT SO ALL ALONE.

WE BEGAN TO FEEL A CLOSENESS
AS WE GATHER IN CHAT EACH DAY,
AND WE DECIDED WE SHOULD MEET
AS WE PLANNED TO MAKE A WAY.

SOME LIVED THERE IN THE CITY
WHERE WE WOULD FINALLY MEET.
SOME OF US TRAVELED FAR,
TO MAKE THIS UNION COMPLETE.

IT WAS A MEETING WE WILL NOT FORGET
AS WE LAUGHED AND HUGGED EACH OTHER.
AND WE HOPE TO MAKE IT YEARLY,
SO NEXT YEAR- PLAN FOR ANOTHER!
