| I am a sinner and I walked away from the Lord for fifty years. I was a soldier in the army of the world for twenty years. Before I came to Christ, I did many sinful things- too numerous to put down. I knew of Jesus, but I did not know Him nor did I follow Him. But one day, God reached down into the deepest, darkest, foulest, pits of hell. He grabbed the slimiest, fouliest thing there and He pulled me out. He sat me on a rock and clensed me with His precious blood. He put His word in me and He told me what he wanted me to do. Then He told me the choice was mine. I chose to be a soldier for the Lord. The Lord Jesus Christ is my commanding officer. The Holy Bible is my code of conduct. Faith, prayer, and The Word are my weapons of warfare. I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity, and tested by fire. I am a volunteer in this Army and I have enlisted for eternity. I will not retire from this army nor will I get out, sell out, be talked out, or be pushed out. I am faithful, reliable, capable, and dependable. When God needs me; I am there. Whether he needs me in Sunday School to teach, to work with the youth, to teach new christian adults, or if He wants me to just sit, listen and learn more about His word. He can use me because I will be there. I am a soldier of the Lord. No one needs to call me, remind me, entice me, or lure me. I am a soldier! I am in place saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His name, and helping to build His kingdom. I am committed. I cannot have my feeling hurt enough to be turned around. I cannot be discouraged enough to turn aside. I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit. When Jesus called me into His army I had nothing, but now I have everything. My God will supply my needs. I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph. I can do all things through Christ. Demons cannot defeat me. People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me. Sickness cannot stop me. Battles cannot beat me. Money cannot buy me. The government cannot silence me and Hell cannot handle me. I am a soldier. Even death cannot destroy me. For when this Commander calls me home from this battlefield, he will promote me to Captain and take me back with Him. I am a soldier in the Army of the Lord and I am marching, claiming victory. I will not give up. I will not turn around. I am a soldier marching heaven bound. Here I stand. Who will stand with me? |
