Stanza 10
But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Nothing further then he uttered, not a feather then he fluttered- Till I scarcely more than muttered, "Other friends have flown before- On the morrow he will leave, as my Hopes have flown before." Then the bird said, "Nevermore."

Description
In stanza 10, the speaker is sure that the Raven will leave, so he's not worried about its presence. Saying, "Other friends have flown before," he meant that other birds fled away by day break. When the speaker says this, the beast answers, "Nevermore," for the second time.
