~A Fresh Coat Of Paint~
A barn, standing in the field,
Long forgotten and faded.
What once was new and proud,
Now is old and outdated.

What would a new coat of paint do?
To a weather worn barn of the past.
Would it give it new life?
Would it make it forever last?

In our lives today,
We could use some things freshly painted.
Like our hearts and souls,
That may have become tainted.

A woman of "age",
Replaces what once was new.
With make-up and wonders,
Trying to look as she used to.

We have painted our hearts,
With life's troubles and pain.
We have replaced love and joy,
With hatred and disdain.

We need a fresh coat of paint,
To brighten up our lives.
We need to stir up new colors,
And live life as it arrives.

Don't hesitate another moment,
Take out your brush and begin.
Applying that fresh coat of paint,
And renew the beauty within.
