| I've written a few poems by now, Each one special in its own right. But this is one that I need to pen, So let me give you my insight. Everyone has feelings, Some not displayed very well. It's hard to read most people, Some you really can't tell. People can wear their feelings, On their sleeve, I've always heard. Others you may have to look deeper, And try not to get deterred. Me? I am an open book, You can always see what I feel. My friends appreciate this, They think it's my best appeal. The point I'm trying to make, you see, Is for those of us who seek. To find out what you are feeling, Why it's so hard for you to speak. It's not easy to try and guess, What you fight so hard to conceal. That leads to misconceptions, And doubts about what you feel. So, if you find it easier, To hold your feelings inside. Just imagine all that you might lose, By letting your real feelings hide. If you love someone, then tell them, If actions alone don't suffice. We all need to be told this, So, please heed my advice. Don't let your feelings lurk inside, When you have so much to gain. By telling someone just how you feel, Giving them no reason to complain. So there is a point to all of this, My rambling is not without purpose. Let this serve as a reminder, To let those feelings surface. Debbie Dodson March 23, 2000 |
