If you have been getting rejection letter after another, then the cause is probably due to a poorly-written resume. Bad grammar, poor punctuation and lack of clarity make some resumes hard to read. Rather than make the effort, many employers will assign them to the rubbish pile.

What makes a good resume stand out? Let us assume that you have the required qualifications and attributes (otherwise, you should not be applying for the job!). A good layout or format, very good grammar (and no spelling mistakes), and a good indication of where you are, what you have done, and where you want to go, are excellent starters. Keep it concise and simple. You are probably only going to get 5 minutes (or less) of the reader's time. Do not make it too lengthy - 4 pages is probably the maximum it should be.

A well-written resume is mandatory in getting an interview, all else being equal. After that, it's up to you to impress them with your knowledge and ability!
