Garbage first formed as an impropmtu Session band before Shirley Manson came a long. Garbage was formed in Wisconsin in 1993. Butch Vigformed the band after helping numerious bands, such as the Nirvana's and Smashing pumpkins, Vig would help by producing them.
Shirley later, was found at the time she was the vocalist for Angelfish. After joining Garbage they released their first album self-titled in the summer of 1995. It wasn't until MTV viewed their song 'Queer' would Garbage's songs such as 'Only Happy when it rains', And 'Stupid Girl' put the band at the start og a Continental tour.
By 1997 they produced another album Garbage 2.0. However the band did not start getting the high ratings till their third album was released titled' Beautiful garbage' in 2001. As the band works to produce another album hopefully later 2003, or early 2004.
