The dream of a fool I had a dream of clouds of silver, Sparkling stars, all hopes fulfill there. Rubies on wings of butterflies And rainbows embracing clear blue skies… Heather covered by morning dew, The joyful cry of a newborn ewe, And lonely chimes of evening bells As bird songs echo where angels dwell… I dreamt of knights and ancient castles, Of scarlet rose that had no thistles, Of little children playing ball In terrain that was meant for war… Then I dreamt of joyful laughter, A smiling face that greets me after The storm is gone form my horizon And my heart still beats and cries on… Then by the hand he gently takes me, With kisses from death awakes me, And we'll be just like all the others Who are truly sweethearts, lovers, I’ll have a home…. But does it matter? I am mad! As mad as hatter, For I dared to dream, ignored the rules. Barren are the dreams of fools… |
