Rusty Young: Vocals, Guitar, Steel, Banjo, Mandolin.

(February 23rd 1946, Denver, Colorado.)
Founder member Rusty Young formed Poco with George Grantham, Richie Furay, Jim Messina and Randy Meisner. Both Young and Grantham were formerly in the Denver based band Boenzee Cryque. He is the only member of Poco to be in every line up since the band was formed in 1969. After Richie Furay's departure in 1973, Rusty started to write more of the bands material and became the central figure along with Paul Cotton in the success of their hit album 'Legend' in 1978. The album generated two of their biggest hit singles 'Crazy love' and 'Heart of the night'. Rusty continued with Poco until 1984 to record 'Inamorata'. Richie Furay, Tim Schmit and George Grantham were guest vocalists on the album. After a five year break the original band recorded 'Legacy', which included the hit single 'Call it love' sung by Rusty. Rusty and Paul Cotton continued to tour as Poco throughout the 90's right up to the present. and Bassist Jack Sundrud.
