THE POCKINS

While walking toward my brothers barn with my four-year old granddaughter, Lauren, and her granddad. She ask me if she could pet the Pockins. Having no idea what she meant, I looked around and saw pigs, a horse, a donkey,  and some chickens. Suddenly it dawned on me what she meant by Pockins.  I was like... duhhhhhhh!!!  When teaching her what sounds different animals made I taught her that chickens made a sound like pock a pock a pock.  She thought that chickens were called Pockins because of the sound they made. I had my camera and I took some pictures, one of which I named "The Pockins".  The next year I entered the photo in the County Fair and to my delight it won a Blue Ribbon. So I decided it would be fun to use Pockins as my online nickname.
