Hedgehogs are certainly one of the most interesting critters I have known. When I first started researching them, I couldn't understand why there were so many different opinions about each little detail. Now I understand. Not only is the idea of keeping hedgies as pets relatively new here, but they all have such different personalities! For example, the question of when to start handling the babies; one of my girls would only let me start touching them at about 15 days, but another lets me pick them up at about 5 days. There is just no right answer that fits every hedgie. Nevertheless, I have done my best to compile some of the most basic info for you here.
