FAQ's -- Finished Flags

What do we do with the finished flags?

When you are done, contact us by e-mail to see where to send them.  We have ongoing lists of requests for flags for various military units.  Or if you are near a military base and want to donate them to a local unit being deployed, you can make contact there and notify us of your intent.  This helps us to track where the flags are going, avoid duplications and insure that the flags are going to fulfill the mission of this project.

When you send your flags out, we ask that you include a copy of the article about the start of the project from the Denver Catholic Register available on this site so the troops know about the Pocket Flag Project and its background.  Also include a copy of each of the articles which are packaged along with the shipping label for your fabric.  These articles give more information about the project.  A printed copy of the first page of this website is also helpful.

Who gets the flags?

Our first priority is to send pocket flags to active military serving on the front lines or in support areas for the War on Terrorism.  If we are informed of a reserve unit being activated and deployed to the front lines or support areas, we provide pocket flags for the reservists being activated.

We are being asked to provide pocket flags for other active military units, veterans groups, policemen and firemen and we hope to be able to provide for these groups in the future but until that time, our focus is on the troops on the front lines and other requests will be denied.

Why can't we sell these flags?

Our objective is to support the military serving in the War Against Terrorism on the front lines.  It is not intended for anyone to profit from this service project.  At some point we may make flags available for sale to cover costs of purchasing flag fabric and packaging materials to continue this project.
