AP Metallica 2004-2005 Disclosure Document Mr. James Hetfield Welcome to AP Metallica! I'm very hyped for this year, mainly for the chance to kill you all, and also because of all that we're going to cover if you survive. The disclosure statement below will outline the general curriculum and policies so you'll know what I expect. Curriculum: In AP Metallica, we will focus on becoming Professional Musicians, as well as improving your guitar, drum, and vocal skills. Must bring own instrument(s). Grading: Grades. Ha! Grading is for people who want to do the minimum just to barely pass the class so they can graduate. Not here. Unless you become world-renowned and sell millions of records, you fail. If a student is in danger of failing, I will laugh at them and advise the parents to kick them out of my class. I will update student grades on Power School at least weekly. The grading scale will look like this: A 100% F 99% and below As you can see, I have high expectations for each of my students. 100% effort, or else you will fail. Late Work: There is no late work. If you miss your one big chance to go big and record your album, then it sucks to be you. Someone else will have taken your chance and used it to their advantage. Even if there is a legitimate excuse I'll still laugh in your face. Sucess waits for nobody. Extra Credit: Extra credit opportunities will be made available every term. The only way to get the points is to buy one of Metallica's albums: 5pts. per album, unlimited albums accepted, but I must have a parent signature and a receipt for the album purchased. If not, enjoy the music, but no points are yours. Class Attendance and Make-Up Policy: It is very important for students to attend class regularly and to be on time! It is the student's responsibility to be here every day to the minute. All assignments are expected on the day they're due. If you know you'll miss a class, make sure you transfer out; there are no absences accepted. No make-up either. Attendance and Citizenship Policy: The class will adhere to the general school policies outlined in the Student Handbook. These policies will also apply: Any cheating, plagiarizing, copying, general dishonesty, etc. will result in an automatic zero on the assignment. So don't do it! one unexcused absence will result in an F. Students with one or more unexcused tardies will also qualify for an F. We'll be discussing basic class rules as a class, where everyone will have a chance to contribute to the final draft. "You can have your own way, just as long as it's how I say." I will not be available to students and parents for any questions, concerns, you name it. Don't let me know how I can help. Thanks-I Dont have the time to know everyone-all my concerts keep me busy and all. Please sign and return what's under the line. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have read and understand this disclosure statement, or if I didn't understand it, I'll be talking to Mr. James Hetfield about the foggy parts.
