Jason Lockhart

Wrestlers Full Name: Jason Lockhart

Wrestlers Birth Date: March 31, 1978

Gender: Male

Height: 6'3

Weight: 265 lbs.

Hometown: Ames, Iowa

Wrestlers Background: Jason's wrestling background is an almost storied background. As a young child, he was started in wrestling as soon as he was able to and was a great young wrestler with loads of potential. He won numerous peewee titles and accolades and was even helped by a man, who would later become his high school coach and mentor, early on in life because of the potential seen in him at this early age. He blossomed into one of the greatest wrestlers in the state of Iowa through all of his training, and was made to eat, sleep, and breathe wrestling throughout his youth. He became an Iowa state champion and junior national champion while in high school. From there he was considered an All-American blue-chipper with seemingly unlimited international potential, some were even hailing him as the next Bruce Baumgartner, and became heavily sought after as an amateur wrestler, eventually accepted a scholarship to University of Iowa to continue his career both academically and as a wrestler. He eventually left there as a championship-caliber wrestler, winning two NCAA heavyweight championship while there as Iowa's heavyweight wrestler, and seemed almost destined for international greatness as well as being considered one of the greatest amateur heavyweight wrestlers of his era. He was brought into the international talent pool and made his way to the top of the heavyweights in a relatively short amount of time, taking about 4 months to accomplish the feat. He would eventually go on to capture a World championship in amateur wrestling and was deemed the best chance for the Olympic gold that was soon to follow, he was chosen as the captain of the team and proclaimed not only the future of USA wrestling, but also as the Olympic champion even before the Olympics. He was so technically skilled that no one really doubted the fact that he would win the gold in the next Olympics. Then fate would strike this great wrestler down, he was wrestling at a tournament to determine who would be representing the USA at the next Olympics and was easily touted as the favorite and a shoe-in for the heavyweight slot as well as the Olympic gold medal. However, while wrestling in the tournament, he injured his neck so severely in a mat accident that he would not only no longer be able to compete on the Olympic team, but he future in wrestling all together was doubted. He continued to train, even after missing the Olympics and training heavily for his international return, but never got himself back to where he was at during his rise to the top of the international fame. He decided, after a few workouts with what was the Olympic team, that it would take him some time to get back into the shape he was before but he didn't want to wait and left the sport of amateur wrestling, at least for the time being. After, leaving the sport that had given him so much he really had nothing to do, despite getting his degree to be a teacher at Iowa while there. He tried a bit of shoot-fighting and even excelled at that a bit, but preferred to wrestle more than mix it up in the bare-knuckle brawling realm and soon after lessened his shoot-fighting committments and training. It was at this time that he was contacted by a man who had made a name for himself in the sport of pro-wrestling, while not a highly decorated champion, the man was highly respected and had done well for himself. This man was the "Livewire" Alex Renge. Renge had started his own school and promotion in Tampa, Florida. At the time, Renge only trained a few wrestlers and they were basically his own sons, he left the day-to-day training to other trainers that were affiliated with his school. He was seemingly to busy to be bothered with training and was running the school and Tampa Pro Wrestling, his promotion, but saw something in Lockhart that he wanted to take a chance on and so he talked Lockhart into coming to Tampa to train in pro-wrestling with him exclusively. He worked with him day and night, even taking Lockhart into his home and having him live with the Renge family and became the pet protege of Renge and almost like an adopted son to him. Within his first three months of training he was deemed ready to wrestle professionally and picked it up very quickly absorbing all kinds of wrestling knowledge like a sponge. Renge trained him not only in the moves and psychology of wrestling, but also in the head knowledge of past champions learning the abilities needed to adapt and improvise while in the ring. He was made to learn history of wrestling along with the fundamentals in many different styles from puroresu/strong style to the american style even to mexican/lucha style. Renge taught him everything he knew in the business and from his years of wrestling worldwide, including ways to work each style and everything needed to become a great wrestler. He eventually became the Tampa Pro Wrestling champion within his first full year of wrestling and was seen as a great rising star in pro-wrestling, with many top promotions taking looks at him, but no one wanting to take the chance on him at that point. At the end of his third year of wrestling, being a multi-time champion in TPW and the brightest of the rising stars of American pro wrestling, he decided to try his craft somewhere else and asked Alex to help him find somewhere credible and a great promotion. After getting in contact with a few promotions and some of his previous wrestling friends and wrestling promoters, Alex told Jason of the new PNW that was opening back up and Jason asked for help getting in there.

Wrestler Alignment: Face

Entrance Music: "Headstrong" by Trapt

Gimmick: Lockhart is a very accomplished wrestler and plays the part of his superior technical abilities. He is the classic amateur wrestler and seems to return to the basics in the ring, despite his marvelous adaptation to the squared cicle. He seems almost consumed with his accomplishments and it fuels the ego he has to make it bigger, especially when he wins. He is prone to temper "fits" that can cause him to seem insane, mostly when he loses, and not much can settle him down.

Appearance (In Ring and Out):

In ring - Jason is a monster of a man! He has short, clean-cut dark brown hair. His eyes are a light green, almost emerald, and he always seems to have a stubble beard and it never seems to grow very much. He looks like a Greek god or like he is cut out of granite with his huge arms and thick thighs, almost what you would expect from an exceptional heavyweight amateur wrestler, with washboard abs and a golden tan from being down in Florida. He usually wears either a red or blue singlet to the ring with the letters "U.S.A" written in gold and outlined in white, although he has a similar gold one for important matches that has the "U" in red, the "S" in white, and the "A" in blue. He also has a design of a heart with a key hole on the front of the legs of the singlet, the key hole is black on both singlets with the heart being red on the blue singlet and blue on the red singlet, on the gold singlet the heart is blue is also blue. He wears lycra kneepads matching his singlet and amateur wrestling style shoes usually, although on occasion he has worn pro wrestling style boots (he claims he feels less like an international wrestling star in pro wrestling boots however).

Out of Ring - When Jason isn't in the ring, he is usually wearing windbreaker/training-type pants in either red or blue (but usually blue). He is sometimes in blue carpenter jeans as well. He wears white ADIDAS running/training shoes with blue stripes (he claims ADIDAS is the only sports company he could ever endorse). He is usually seen wearing a "USA wrestling" shirt or a "TPW" (Tampa Pro Wrestling) shirt. He also wears a shirt that was sold in TPW that says "If your Hart stops…" on the front and "It probably got all Lock-ed up! 'The Shooter' Jason Lockhart" on the back.

Full Ring Entrance:

("Trapt" by Headstrong begins to play over the PA. Red, white, and blue laser lights piece the arena, moving over the crowd [video plays, if there is a screen set up that shows Lockhart doing various signature move and his finishers, as well as winning matches and even some of his amateur wrestling shots like his World championshipship win]. A man moves from behind the curtain and stands looking at the crowd, his green eyes surveying everything, before then moving his focus to the ring. The monster of a man is wearing his PNW "Locked Hart" t-shirt over his singlet for his entrance to the ring. He poses a bit, flexing and bouncing on the balls of his feet. Then he begins his move towards the ring.)

#Circling, your circling, you circle in your head/Contemplating everything you ever said/Now I know the truth, I got a doubt/A different motive in your eyes and now I'm out, see you later#

(Stops mid-way to pose some more and then abruptly raising his arms pointing towards the sky and looking up.)

#I see your fantasy you want to make a reality paved in gold / See inside, inside of our heads / Well that's all over, I see your motives inside/And your decision to hide#

(Continues his move to the ring, stopping right before getting to the ring.)

Announcer: "The Shooter" Jason Lockhart!

#I see your fantasy you want to make a reality paved in gold / See inside, inside of our heads / Well that's all over, I see your motives inside/And your decision to hide/Back off we'll take you on / Headstrong to take on anyone / I know that you are wrong / Headstrong we're Headstrong / Back off We'll take you on / Headstrong to take on anyone / I know that you are wrong /And this is not where you belong (where you belong)/I can't give everything away (this is not where you belong)/ I won't give everything away#

(He then continues to move toward the ring, jumping onto the apron, and moving between the ropes into the actual ring.)

#I know, I know all about/I know, I know all about/I know I know all about your motives inside and your decision to hide#

(He stands in the middle of the ring, as the song is finishing, then balls up his fist and strikes his chest three times before raising it, pointing his index finger to the sky.)

#Back off we'll take you on / Headstrong to take on anyone / I know that you are wrong / Headstrong we're Headstrong / Back off We'll take you on / Headstrong to take on anyone / I know that you are wrong /And this is not where you belong (where you belong)/I can't give everything away (this is not where you belong)/ I won't give everything away(this is not where you belong)#

(He then either stands staring at the entryway, waiting for his opponent to come out or stares across the ring at his opponent in the ring.)

Basic Match Strategy: Lockhart's match strategy is fairly simple and yet complex too. He will circle his opponent trying to look for an opening to take the opponent down or for some sort of way to gain the upper hand in the match. He prefers technical manuvers whenever possible, but will not hesitate to brawl. He is not very much of a high flyer or a daredevil, though if he gets desparate, he may try to use some old moves from his training like a big splash, 450 splash, or even a tope or dive to the floor. He tries to mix up his basic amateur style with some power moves and submission style manuvers. He is well-adept at the submission style, as he did train as a shoot-fighter for a time, and as a wrestler in the amateur style. He is always looking for a step in to finish things quickly. He can quickly adapt to his opponent's style, as he had to learn many of them and can counter them almost effortlessly. Good technical opponents frustrate him, however, and have lead to him losing his temper and even cheating (as he is seemingly not above that to win). These technically proficient opponents seem to be the the best bets to beat him, as they can match him hold for hold, but also tend to bring out the best in him through his matches. Lighter, quicker wrestlers also give him a hard time, but being so well-trained in many styles and can adapt and catch them off guard as well. Usually he is calm and collected trying to frustrate his opponent and have them make a mistake to open up a finish, he almost always has a game plan and thinks two or three steps ahead, like a good tech wrestler should be able to. Sometimes he tends to wait too long looking for the perfect opportunity to finish the match, but will usually take the quickest and easiest way (which may include foreign objects and cheating).
