uath na Caolas Púgeid
Welcome to the Tuath na Caolas Púgeid cyber-ráth! Based out of Ráth Geata na Céadar in Tacoma, Washington, we are an independent Gaelic tuath dedicated to living and rebuilding the Gaelic traditions of pre-Anglo-Norman-Invasion Ireland and Scotland. Our tuath is made up of dedicated men and women who seek to research, study and live the ways of our ancestors in the modern age.

What is this "tuath" stuff you may ask? Well, there is an in-depth article that explains it here, as well as research material that explains what we base our way of life on. However, a simpler explanation can is this- we follow a culturally-based faith, founded in the family, which does not separate the spiritual from the ordinary. Our values, beliefs, customs, methodologies, structures, etc. are drawn from indigenous Gaelic culture as it existed prior to its fragmentation in the 16th century.

Not all of our people have a Gaelic lineage. Yet for the Gael, and those who were not born Gaelic, the cultural context is of paramount importance. For us, kinship is established within traditional family structures and tuath identity as found in the ancient texts, recorded folklore, folk beliefs, and folk customs from all Gaelic lands.

The links to the left will take you to more information about our tuath, a photogallery of our gatherings, and our e-list. Read on and enjoy!
