One interesting note I found on Edgar Allen Poe was that he was a prankster who used to write anonymous reviews of his own work, accusing himself of plagiarism. (Donn) Yet another is his fame as a Cryptographer. The most profound and skillful cryptographer who ever lived was undoubtedly Edgar Allen Poe. A cryptograph is a piece of writing to which a meaning exists but is not immediately perceptible; its intelligibility is concealed, hence mysterious or occult, and thus supernatural. Poe initiated a challenge in the Messenger (paper he was working with at the time) for readers to send him a cryptograph defined by parameters. This generated numerous responses. Poe basically figured out every one of them with ease.

So this is the end of my essay. It was packed full of little known information about Edgar Allen Poe. Not just the plain old he was born here and died there, etc. More of a boy, that was interesting kind of information. Hopefully it was very enjoyable. And as Poe would say, this essay is done forevermore.
