2004 Reunion

This year saw us revert the tried and true formula of minimal interruption to our eating, drinking and conversation.

Based on the feedback we received from our survey last year, we dispensed with the PNG Quiz and where possible anything else that slowed conversation.

The AGM was held in record time of under five minutes.  We were set a target to beat of seven minutes (set by the Retired Officers Club).

With the formalities over prior to Kia, the evening rolled on until the lights were turned off at midnight.

We had a good role up of just over the 100 mark, with attendees coming from as far away as Perth (John Lawton), Port Moresby (Don Madigan) and New Zealand (Paul Steven)

Once again we are indebted to a number of organisations for there support to our association.  Thank you to the following for their generous support:

*  Westpac Staff Club

*  Westpac Pacific Banking

*  Westpac Bank-PNG-Limited

*  Air Nuigini

There was a larger than normal amount of Memorabilia on display this year.  Thanks to Pacific Banking for loaning a selection of photos.

We again held our recovery BBQ at the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway Park on Sunday.  This event was attended by only a handful of people who enjoyed a relaxing lunch and conversation.

Next year will see the 30th anniversary of independence for Papua New Guinea.  For those of us who were there at the time, what memories and stories do you have?  We will be pursuing memories and stories over the next 12 months with the aim of sharing them at our next reunion.

Jot the 16th of September 2005 in your diary as the date for next years reunion and start documenting those stories and send them off to us.

Until next year,
