Marion Dennis' birth date came from my grandfathers scrapbook. In it, he
and my grandmother had friends and relatives "sign in" when they
visited. Marions married name came from her mothers obituary in the
Omaha World Herald. In the obituary of Abbie Groff Dennis, it is
mentioned that she had two daughters: Mrs. Marion Swift and Mrs. Helen
Mahoney. It also notes three (3) grandchildren. As we know that Helen
Dennis Mahoney had three children, it is safe to assume that Marion and
James had no living children in 1947 when Marion's mother died. The
Social Security Death Index lists Marion D. Swift of Pleasantville, Cass
Co. Missouri as being born on December 25, 1899 and died in September of
1988. Although I have no other proof other than a birth date matching
that of Marion Dennis, and a last name that matches the one given in
Abbie Groff Dennis' obituary, I believe that it is safe to assume that
this is the daughter of Charles and Abbie Dennis.
