Abram Dennis is listed as Abraham in the 1850 census. He had a
blacksmith shop in New Providence, Lancaster County, PA.
In the 1900 Census, Abram and Rosanna have their daughters Mable and Mary living with them. Although Rosanna bore nine (9) children, only seven (7) were living in 1900 (this information was provided in the 1900 census). We know that one of her deceased children was Thaddeus, and have accounted for Harry, Cassius, Mable, Jennie and Mary. Charles is also accounted for, living in Nebraska with his brother C.Frank Dennis, his wife Abbie Jane Groff and their children. Emma is buried to the right of her parents at Zion United Church of Christ in New Providence, Lancaster Co. PA. Her headstone is barely readable, and it is in such poor shape that doing a "rubbing" of the stone would probably cause the stone to fall apart. From the 1870 census, we can find that John W. Dennis was born in February of 1870. Children under one year of age had their birth month listed in the 1870 census. This would most likely be the same John W. Dennis that lived in Downingtown PA in 1900. By 1920, Abram is shown in the census as living with Frank (?) and Anna Mary Souders in Strasburg Township. He is 81 years old and his occupation is listed as "Wagon Maker". Frank Souders is a blacksmith in Strasburg Township.
