This is a picture of my Grandfather just for reference. It was probably taken
between 1915 and 1920. If you happen to recognize him, then perhaps we are
distantly related.
This is a picture of my Great-Grandparents and their children. Left to right they are: Harry Aldus Dennis, Raymond Miller Dennis, Samuel Nelson Dennis and Anna Maria Dennis (Miller) Front row center is my grandfather Abram Norman Dennis. This photo was probably taken in about 1900.
Children of John Franklin and Mae Lewis Reynolds
This is a picture of my Grandmother and her siblings. It was probably taken
around 1905. Pictured (front left to right) are George L. Reynolds, Sara Miriam Reynolds (my grandmother), and Cyril F. Reynolds. Lloyd H. Reynolds is standing in back.
I believe that the person on the far right standing up is my great-grandfather,
Harry Aldus Dennis. Harry was born in April, 1861 in New Providence PA.
Next to Harry is Jennie Dennis (referred to as Aunt Jennie by my Grandfather
in his photo album). Seated in front is Mary Dennis and her husband Howard Seichrist. Mary and Howard lived near York PA.
Written beneath this photo in my grandfathers photo album was "Aunt Jennie". Jennie's married name was Graham. We believe that she lived in Lincoln Nebraska.
Lyall Crissman was a friend of my grandfathers. The embossing in the lower right corner of the picture indicates it was taken in Frostburg Maryland.
Written beneath this photo in my grandfathers photo album was "Aunt Mable". Mable Dennis was born in May 1881. She married James P. Miller (below), died on January 3, 1962 and is buried in the Dennis Family plot at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha Nebraska.
Written beneath this photo in my grandfathers photo album was "Uncle Jim". As it was next to Mables picture, the two picture APPEAR to have been taken on the same day/place, and Mable married James P. Miller, one can presume that this is Mables husband.
This is a group of Dennis Family Members. The man in the middle looks like my great-grandfather, but I cannot figure out where his wife is as they always travelled together.
Probably taken on the same day as the picture above. Might include some of the children of the Dennis Family members present.
This is a portrait of my great-grandfather, Harry Aldus Dennis and his sister Mable Dennis. Harry was the eldest of nine children, and Mable was the youngest, 20 years younger than Harry.
The notation on the back of this picture says: "Grandpa Dennis blacksmith shop
at New Providence PA". The writing is that of my grandfather, indicating that
the shop belongs to my great-great grandfather, Abram Dennis (the father of Harry Aldus Dennis)
Abram Dennis married Rosanna Groff and they had nine children.
This picture is of some railroad workers standing beneath a tressle somewhere.
Three people are marked with an 'x' and there was writing on the frame (again
in my grandfathers hand) indicating some names.
Marked with an x standing in the back: "Harry Dennis Sr" (may be Jr). As far
as I know, my great-grandfather was Harry Aldus Dennis, and one of his grandsons
was Harry Aldus Dennis II. I don't know of any other Harry Dennis in our line.
Marked with an x front row left: "Samuel D. Nelson" This picture appears to
be too old for that to be Samuel Nelson Dennis, brother of my grandfather.
Marked with an x front row right: "Wm John" I don't have a clue about this person.
