The Philippine Nurses Association of San Antonio was organized in March, 1989 in response to the expressed needs of the Philippine nurses in the community to serve as a mechanism to deal with professional issues and concerns.
In 1992 PNASA was recognized and incorporated in the state of Texas.
The PNASA successfully sponsored the 15th PNAA Annual Convention held in 1994. PNAA has made big strides increasing its membership base, awarding scholarship funds to deserving BSN students and has been sending delegates to the PNAA conferences and conventions as well as giving financial assistance to members who attend seminars and conferences that are related to their clinical specialties.
The PNASA has been coordinating with different educational institutions and health care systems and other organizations thus enhancing the recognition of the PNASA in the community.
The PNASA derives its funds from membership fees, and scholarship fund raising projects.
