What is the Programme all about?
Many deaf adults, we believe have never had the opportunity to receive formal education. As such, this programme aims to provide such persons with opportunities to learn daily living, social skills and job readiness training. It will also help them to interact with other deaf members and the general public.
For whom?
The Programme aims to provide opportunities for deaf youth
above school going age:-
- With a low level of education
- Who have never been to school
- Finding difficulties securing jobs
What are the contents of the Programme?
The programme will include:-
- Life and Social skills training
- Academic Skills (Language and Maths)
- Self Help Skills
- Community Awareness
- Home Living Skills
- Social Skills
- Basic Job Skills
- Basic Job Readiness Training
Special for Deaf working adults who had receive formal education but want to improve themselves better:
Many deaf youths, we believe have desires to improve themselves better in general. As such, this programme aims to provide Deaf working youths with opportunities to learn languages such as English, Bahasa Malaysia, Sign Language etc and to increase general knowledge such as computer, art etc.
- English Class for the Deaf
- Objectives: to learn and master written English
- For whom: Deaf youths who want to improve written English
- Day and time: Every Monday and Wednesday or every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 pm to 8.30 pm
- Fee: RM 75.00 per course
- Duration: 10 sessions per course
- Total of students per course: 8--10 students
- Contents: English vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing
- Bahasa Malaysia Class for the Deaf
- Objectives: to learn and master written Bahasa Malaysia
- For whom: Deaf youths who want to improve written Bahasa Malaysia
- Day and time: Every Monday and Wednesday or every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 pm to 8.30 pm
- Fee: RM 75.00 per course
- Duration: 10 sessions per course
- Total of students per course: 8--10 students
- Contents: Bahasa Malaysia vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing
- BIM Analysis Class for the Deaf
- Objectives: to study and understand own sign language and to increase knowledge about Deaf issues.
- For whom: Deaf signers who want to analysis BIM more deeply.
- Day and time: Every Wednesday from 7 pm to 9 pm
- Fee: RM150.00 per course
- Duration: 20 sessions per course
- Total of students per course: 12--14 students
- Contents: BIM analysis, BIM grammar, Deaf Issues
If there are some Deaf youths who are interested in one subject, we can set up a class of the mentioned subject for them. Just contact us for further action.
