| This young girl and her baby sister have to live in plastic tents by the side of the road - the whole community has been evicted from their homes in Takuara. Gunmen forced the community from their land in Oct 2002 - burned the village to the ground - and crammed them into a "reservation". Forced out because of overcrowding, they now live by the road in plastic tents. The situation is desperate. Some Guarani feel they are better off dead than living in these conditions, and commit suicide. |
