Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 11 dc into ring; join to top of beginning ch 3. (12 dc) Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, work 2 dc in each dc around; join. (24 dc) Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc*, repeat from * around; join. (36 dc) Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 2 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc*, repeat from * around; join. (48 dc) Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 3 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc*, repeat from * around; join. (60 dc) Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 9 dc, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 9 dc*, repeat from * around; join. (66 dc) Rnd 7: Ch 1, working in BLO sc in each dc around; join. At end of rnd 17 fasten off and weave in ends. Top Knot Ch 4, join to form ring. Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 7 sc into loop; join to first sc. (7 sc) Rnd 2: Ch 1 sc in each sc around; join. Rnd 3: Ch 1, (sc next 2 sc together) 3 times, sc in last sc. Finish off, leaving long end for sewing. Sew top knot to top center of hat, weave in ends. Optional trim Join with sl st to any unworked loop on rnd 7. Ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook (picot made) *sl st in next 2 unworked loops, picot*, repeat from * around; join.
